Welcome to the Cloud Knowledge Centre

The Cloud Knowledge Centre (CKC) is a best practice approach to drive cloud-enabled transformation. To ensure cloud adoption success, UBC must have the right skills and structure in place. The CKC is a centralized governance resource that acts in a consultative role for cloud service consumers across the university.

The CKC will provide support to the community in the following areas:

  1. Computing Guidelines
The CKC will develop and enable organization-wide cloud computing guidelines in a way that allows the institution to be flexible, without exposing UBC to unacceptable levels of organizational risk.
  2. Vendor Selection
The CKC will guide cloud consumers in selecting the right service and/or providers, find the best fit, and manage vendor-related risk.
  3. Manage & Mitigate
The CKC will manage and mitigate security and regulatory compliance risks while ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability.
  4. Govern Costs
the CKC will help to govern  costs and forecast future costs.
  5. Education
The CKC will help educate the university on best practices and keep up with the rate of change introduced by our service providers.
  6. Drive Transformation
The CKC will drive cloud-enabled transformation across the organization and help stakeholders think through the possibilities enabled by cloud.
